Our Departments

The Department of Torah Studies and Sacred Linguistics offers an immersive exploration of Talmudic Studies, an in-depth analysis of Tanach, the profound wisdom of Chassidut, and the mysteries of Lashon Kodesh. Graduates from this department embark on diverse career paths, engaging in research, sharing knowledge through teaching, pursuing a calling as a rabbi or furthering their academic journey by pursuing law school.

The approach to counseling at FHU is focused on mastering laws of spirituality within Torah mitzvot. We emphasize the study of the neshamah, application of laws of Hashem in real life situations, and equip our students with the skills to guide their clients towards happiness and success in their personal, family, and spiritual lives by facilitating a profound understanding of and adherence to Torah laws.

FHU's curriculum emphasizes a Torah-based approach to communication. This includes the profound understanding of the power of speech, the avoidance of gossip, effective communication techniques, and the skillful presentation and delivery of material. We also instill the value of speaking from the heart, in line with the rich tradition of Jewish teachings, as opposed to speaking solely from the intellect.

The Education Department at FHU focuses on the areas of early childhood, K-12, and nutrition education adhering to a compassionate and holistic educational model deeply rooted in two millennia of Jewish tradition. The study of Mussar, Sefer Hamidot, and Rambam's Regimen for Health is seamlessly integrated into the program, enriching the educational experience.

If you are interested in learning and developing administrative skills, whether for starting a business, launching a non-profit, fundraising or undertaing a charity project, this program is tailored for your needs. 

At FHU, we impart practical business expertise based on Torah principles.

To address multigenerational trauma within the Jewish community and offer support to families in need, it is imperative that social workers receive education grounded in Torah values and a possess 

compassionate mindset.

Our program provides appropriate training and helps students gain an understanding of the deep-seated causes stemming from family history, equipping them to provide solutions and assistance to these families, and become adept at problem-solving for families-in-crisis.

The Florida Hebrew University's Department of Arts and Music is a vibrant hub for creativity and cultural exploration. We offer B.A. in Modest Fashion Design as well as B.A. in Jewish Music.  Students have the opportunity to engage with a broad spectrum of creative practices and gain a deep understanding of the intersections between art, culture, and tradition.

The Jewish history B.A. program at Florida Hebrew University offers a comprehensive exploration of Jewish heritage from ancient times to the present. With a strong interdisciplinary focus, it delves into various aspects of Jewish civilization, including religious traditions, diaspora experiences, Holocaust studies, and contemporary Jewish communities. The program equips students with a deep understanding of Jewish history while fostering critical thinking and research skills, preparing them for diverse career opportunities and further academic pursuits.

The value of Torah is far more then just the sum of its ideas that we appreciate. It is Divine. It is supernal. It is infinite. So we hold the closed Torahs and celebrate the infinite Divine work that we have been gifted.
