About Us

With gratitude to Hashem, we are honored to present a new model of post-secondary education
for the Torah-observant students.

Established in 2020, Florida Hebrew University was founded to meet the increasing demand for post-secondary education within a Torah-observant environment in Florida. Our institution is dedicated to offering a comprehensive range of academic programs that blend rigorous academics with Torah values.

We provide B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees (with a religious modifier)* in diverse fields such as Torah Studies, Sacred Linguistics, Education, Administration, Counseling, Social Work, Arts, Music, Fashion, and Hebrew and Jewish Studies. These programs are designed to equip our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in both their professional and personal lives.

In addition to our degree programs, we offer well-rounded educational options for current yeshiva and seminary students. These students can take additional courses at our university to complement their existing education and earn a university diploma, thereby enhancing their career prospects and academic credentials.

We also provide certificate programs for fast-track candidates who are looking to enhance their careers or explore new career options. Our classes are open to the Jewish community, and we are actively working on Torah-based cultural developments such as FHU Centers to help promote Torah-based culture.

We place a strong focus on assisting our graduates in creating their parnasa pathways within Torah-based companies. As a new university, we aim to work closely with potential employers, soliciting feedback on our curriculum to ensure it meets their needs and prepares our students effectively. Additionally, we support students' entrepreneurial initiatives by providing them with a robust entrepreneurial curriculum within our Administration Programs.

We are proud to announce that our inaugural cohort of students is on track to graduate by 2024. This milestone marks a significant achievement in our mission to provide high-quality, Torah-based education.

Looking forward, we are actively expanding our program offerings to include a wider variety of fields. Our goal is to continually adapt and grow to meet the evolving educational needs of our community while maintaining the highest standards of Torah observance and academic excellence.

Below, you can read about our mission, vision, and values.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide continuity in Orthodox Jewish education and cultivate future generations of Torah-observant citizens who adhere to mitzvot and possess the skills to contribute to development of Torah-based culture and research. Through rigorous academic programs and ethical teachings, we empower our students to lead lives of purpose and impact, equipped with the skills to provide for their families while dedicating time to the study Torah.
Our Values
Our values are easy to identify. They are 613 mitzvot that Hashem commanded to K'lahl Israel through the prophet of prophets - Moshe Rabbenu.

Our Vision
At Florida Hebrew University, our vision is to be a distinguished institution dedicated to Torah-based education and research, where Torah-observant students engage in rigorous academic pursuits while embracing Jewish values and tradition. We are committed to fostering a deep understanding of Torah principles, promoting spiritual purity, and advancing the concept of Geulah (redemption) within our community and beyond.
Our Lecture Format
At Florida Hebrew University, each lecture begins and ends with a heartfelt prayer and an expression of gratitude to Hashem for the privilege of learning. Throughout our courses, we weave together secular subjects with the timeless wisdom of the Torah. By drawing parallels between modern scientific discoveries and ancient Torah teachings, we offer a unique, holistic approach to education. Our curriculum cross-references secular and Torah perspectives, fostering critical thinking and a deeper, spiritually enriched understanding. We are mindful of our language, avoiding words that contain potentially destructive content, ensuring that our communication upholds the values of respect and positivity. All our students adhere to a halakhically established dress code, male and female students are taught in separate classes, and all faculty and students are shomer negiyah. This integration not only enhances academic learning but also nurtures the soul, cultivating a profound appreciation for the interconnectedness of all knowledge.
