Florida Consumer Practices pursuant to s. 1005.04

Florida Hebrew University (FHU), operating under its current jurisdiction and exempt status, adheres to the following consumer practices to ensure transparency, fairness, and integrity in all student interactions, including direct or indirect solicitation of enrollment:

1. Purpose, Programs, and Institutional Information

PURPOSE
FHU is committed to offering a well-rounded, Torah-based education that integrates religious values with professional and academic training. FHU’s mission is to empower Torah-observant students to pursue meaningful careers while maintaining their religious commitments. The university emphasizes self-reliance, Torah-based research, and the development of a refined, Torah-based culture.

KEY DISCLOSURES

2. Assessment of Student Readiness

FHU uses reliable methods to assess the ability of prospective students to successfully complete their chosen course of study before accepting them into a program.

3. Employment Placement Services

  • Career Support: FHU offers resources such as resume-building workshops, interview preparation, and job search guidance within fields aligned with Torah values.

  • No Guarantees: While FHU assists in career development, it does not promise guaranteed job placements, market availability, or specific salary outcomes, focusing instead on equipping students with skills and knowledge for meaningful employment.

4. Program Licensure Requirements

FHU does not offer programs that lead to state licensure. The Counseling program is categorized as a religious program and does not equate to a traditional secular degree in psychology, thus not requiring licensure. Educational programs are designed for private Jewish schools and private educational practices, where licensing is not required.

5. Accurate Advertising

FHU is committed to transparency in all advertisements, ensuring promotional materials accurately reflect the university's offerings:

  • Clear Program Descriptions: All program descriptions accurately represent course content, objectives, and outcomes.

  • Accurate Accreditation Statements: FHU does not imply any unearned accreditation status.

  • Truthful Career Outcomes: FHU avoids exaggerated claims regarding job placements or earnings.

  • No False Promises of Licensure: FHU clearly differentiates religious and private school-focused programs from licensure-requiring degrees.

  • Transparent Financial Information: Tuition, fees, and scholarships are presented accurately with no hidden costs.

  • Honest Depiction of Facilities and Online Learning: FHU’s facilities, resources, and online learning modules are presented realistically, ensuring prospective students understand what to expect.

  • Accurate Testimonial Use: All testimonials are authentic and used with permission.

  • Prompt Correction of Errors: FHU commits to correcting any misleading information promptly.

6. Online Safety and Security

FHU ensures a secure online learning environment through advanced cybersecurity measures. Procedures for reporting incidents of online harassment or data breaches are detailed in the “Online Safety and Security” section of the student handbook and available at www.floridahebrewuniversity.org/onlinesafety.

7. Handling Student Complaints and Disciplinary Actions

FHU publishes and adheres to clear procedures for handling student complaints, disciplinary actions, and appeals. Detailed procedures are outlined in the Student Handbook at www.floridahebrewuniversity.org/student-handbook - Section 16.

8. Additional Information Access

Prospective students can obtain further information by contacting relevant accrediting bodies or oversight commissions, where applicable.

9. Compliance Responsibility

FHU is responsible for demonstrating compliance with fair consumer practices in applications for licensure or exemption status and participates in any required investigations to ensure compliance.
