Introduction

Welcome to Florida Hebrew University. We offer Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees for yeshiva and seminary graduates who have achieved various levels of smicha. Our programs are designed to build upon your existing Torah knowledge and enhance your academic and professional qualifications in various fields such as Communications, Counseling, Administration, and more.

Program Overview

​

Our programs allow you to transfer up to 60 credit hours from your yeshiva or seminary education. To complete your degree, you will take additional core courses and specialty courses tailored to your chosen field of study.

Degree Programs

​

1. Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

   • Eligibility: Graduates of yeshivot and seminaries with smicha or equivalent qualifications.

   • Credit Transfer: Up to 60 credit hours.

   • Majors Available: Torah Studies, Communications, Administration, and more.

   • Courses: Core courses and specialty courses relevant to your major.

2. Master of Arts (M.A.)

   • Eligibility: B.A. graduates or those with equivalent qualifications from yeshivot and seminaries.

   • Credit Transfer: Up to 60 credit hours.

   • Majors Available: Torah-Based Counseling, Administration, Communications, and more.

   • Courses: Advanced core courses and specialty courses in your field of interest.

3. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

   • Eligibility: M.A. graduates or those with equivalent qualifications from yeshivot and seminaries.

   • Credit Transfer: Up to 60 credit hours.

   • Majors Available: Torah Studies, Education, Administration, and more.

   • Courses: Specialized core courses, extensive research components, and dissertation work in your chosen area of expertise.

Core and Specialty Courses

To achieve your degree, you will need to complete a combination of core courses and specialty courses:

• Core Courses: Fundamental courses that provide a strong foundation in your chosen field.

• Specialty Courses: Advanced courses that allow you to specialize in a particular area of knowledge or related fields.

 

Application Process

1. Submit Application: Complete the online application form.

2. Provide Documentation: Submit transcripts and documentation of your smicha or equivalent qualifications.

3. Personal Interview: Candidates will be interviewed to assess their individual level of mastery of the subjects learned.

4. Credit Evaluation: We will evaluate your credits for transfer.

5. Enrollment: Once accepted, work with an academic advisor to plan your course schedule.
